What's the story w/ the rubber chickens?

The Dude of Life has thrown rubber chickens into the audience at past appearances. Each chicken reportedly has band signatures and a story part; two parts have been claimed but not revealed; if you have one of these chickens, please let Lemuria know; he will hook you up with other chicken owners, and you can compare the story. Also, if you have one, please transcribe whats written on it and submit it for the Stories File, so that they can be archived.

Ned <edeli@eagle.wesleyan.edu> emailed about "a show [he] saw in Toronto on August 9, 1993. It was the end of the second set and Trey announced that The Dude of Life was here to sing a song. After his song he proceeded to toss little gifts into the audience. I was lucky enough to catch a large rubber chicken that was signed by the band and had little messages from the band. Here they are: From Trey: "Today we kill, Tomorrow we die." From Mike: "Each man to his grave as one to his slave" From Page: "Live free or die now." From the Dude of Life: "Andy Gibb is dead." And for the message which spurred my curiousity the most: from Fish: "One day I'll have such an orgasm that my..." (To be continued on next bird). ... The bird has a number two on the feet so I figure there is someone else with the end of John Fishman's story on their own rubber chicken. So, if you know anything about other chickens including chicken number one please contact me. I'm really curious about what the significance of this chicken catching is and if this means that I have to go on tour!"

<Rwilli8746@aol.com>, emailed (6/30/95) to say he got "a rubber chicken - #8, February 5, 1995 - from the Wetlands Preserve in NYC - Dude of Life show. My roomate Scott actually caught it that night.", and (7/7/95) "Here is a transcription of what is on the chicken (as best as i can make out; i included ?? where i'm not sure of the signature or the word):

Ted Edli and Damar@iasate (7/12/96) emaield "about the rubber chicken experience I had in Toronto on Aug. 9th, 1993. So I want to give you a more complete and accurate record of what's written on the bird. So, here it is:

  • From Page: "Live Free or Die"
  • From Trey: "Today we live, Tomorrow we die"
  • From Mike: "Each man to his grave as one to his slave"
  • And finally from Fishman: "One day I'll have such an orgasm that my...(To be continued on next bird)"
Like I said in the original post my bird has a number 2 on the feet. I'm really curious as to what the ending of Fishman's story is. So, if you have any info on the other chickens I would be interested to hear about them.

Wesley Anderson reported, and Kevin K. Sturtz posted, that a rubber chicken was thrown onstage from the audience at the Starlake show 8/13/97 (during which Trey later bit at the chicken's head), and that this chicken then replaced the mug and phone which had previously been on Page's piano. However, there was no Starlake show in 11/97 - any idea which show this was? :(

Thanks also to Chris "cdogrun".

"Einstein -- he's one of my heroes. ... He brought all sorts of creative ideas to this planet, and he had a lot of mediocre minds working against him --- but if you're going to accomplish that much, you've got to be challenged. I'm sure he was challenged in a lot of ways, but he managed to steer clear of it. No-one ever hated him. You'd think in a position like that you could become bitter, you could become a jerk, and you'd have every right to be that way. But even still to be able to stay a nice guy, and end up having a reverberation like that ... that's incredible.""
-- Jon Fishman, 4/22/92 interview with Shelly Culbertson"
